The niece of Peter Metford, jungle explorer and now wheelchair bound, Marie, pays a visit but is met at the train station by Clay Olden, her Uncle’s secretary. He explains that her uncle is now paralysed and as such was unable to greet her at the station. Marie explains to Uncle Peter that she would like something to do - to be active - and should like him to find her a job. He soon shows her some of his vast collection of artefacts including a number of shrunken human heads and in particular one named Charlie which unnerves Marie and leads to nightmares which makes her believe Charlie is trying to get to her.-Ending/Twist-
Peter Merford is taken away and judged to be insane which leads to the announcement that he was not really Marie’s uncle but her father’s foster brother. We discover the whole truth from The Whistler and it transcribes that Clay Olden’s father was Peter’s dad’s partner who blamed Peter Metford for having ruined their business and leading him to suicide.
