Jack Benny Program - Buying a new car

Jack's car, a Maxwell, is suffering all the effects of old-age. It is 35 years old after all. The brakes don't work (Rochester has to use his feet Flintstones style), there are even tyres missing and the suspension is non-existant. Jack visits a car dealer to look for a new car but is unprepared for the high sale prices. At least the new car will come with a Dynaflex Super-Flowing Unijet Turbo Vaxilator (it empties the ashtray).

Things that happen in OTR

I admit, I have listened to thousands of Old Time Radio episodes over the years and have come up with a list of recurring patterns.

1. In adventure and mystery shows, characters have weak hearts and are susceptible to heart attacks when excited or scared

2. Evil inventors are angry that the world shunned their ideas and by destroying mankind they are teaching us a lesson

3. If a joke is worth telling once in a Jack Benny program, it's worth telling again a hundred times thereafter

4. In The Shadow, about 3/4 of the criminal population possess amazing hypnotic abilities

5. Most police officers are portayed as bumbling Irish men in non-police based shows

6. Doctors are immediatley, and openly, suspicous of wives who report her husbands death

7. Police officers arrest people without evidence except the word of other people

Can you think of any to add to the list?

There are those who think that money is the root of all evil. Others, disagree. Some people work hard all their life and can't even afford to buy a phone. But work doesn't make a man rich, he need's a break according to Tony in this story. Perhaps his ship will come in with the help of a friend's sweepstakes win?

The Shadow - The Tomb of Terror

We open in the city museum at the unveling of the Tomb of King Coopre Tept - an Egyptian Pharaoh. In defiance of the supposed legendary curse that all those who gaze upon the King shall die, the unveiling is to be carried out after the curators perform a brief check of the tomb. While inside they witness the King's eyes begin to glow and soon after one of the curators is dead. A curse or something more sinister? The Shadow Knows..
